Maxi-drive axle flanges ??seal???
G'day all, can anyone tell me what seals the Maxi-drive axle drive flanges, my next door neighbour has a ex sallyman 130 with maxi-drive flanges on the rear only and one is leaking, do they have an O-ring or is it just something as simple as threadtape behind the big hexagon, I'm too busy to look at it so any help would be appreciated thanks Dennis

Just a normal gasket- ie paper or goo.

Thanks Dave for your response but the leak appears to be coming from the big hexagon nut not from behind the pentagon shaped flange, so does it have an O-ring or is it thread tape that seals it cheers Dennis

Thanks Dave, I know where they are situated as Mal Storey modified my Santana box in our 110 it has all 3 shafts done to take tapered rollers instead of the standard bearings, but I might have to email him or his lovely wife, cheers mate Dennis

On mine the dealer had filled the end caps with silastic, but it still leaked.
I used Loctite Thread sealant on the threads . No more leak.
