keep the jumper cables connected for longer.
at worse it will charge the other battery.

an aldi 6amp :p
get a real charger inc.
battery is back up to 11.07
Hi Dave, try leaving the battery on the charger all night and see if it holds it's charge in the morning.
Most batteries are stuffed if they are discharged down that low, but it is not uncommon for an Optima to come back to a full charged state and be fine.
BTW, it would not be a load, such as a glove box light left one. That would discharge a battery much below 7 or 8v.
A dead short is the most likely cause and as Philip posted, start with your alternator.
thanks
charged the battery all night and it is at 12.38 when i disconnect everything..
will see what it measures this arfo
12.34v this arfo so i put it in the vehicle and fired it up
14.38v at the battery terminal @ 1500rpm
will put a clamp meter on the leads shortly and see what drain i have happening.
can the alternator charge correctly and still have a crook diode draining the battery?
