Cometic head gaskets on Rover V8

Has anyone any experience with Cometic head gaskets on a Rover V8?

I see clubagreenie has used them on other engines.

After my P38A's head gasket failure My thanks to Scouse..., my engine builder is suggesting using Cometic instead of the Elring previously used.

At about $400 a pair, I want to be sure. Equally, if it will save pulling the heads off again, it will be worth it.

Short of o-ringing and copper etc it's what I use.

Just think I used 4 sets when I did the testing of the head bolts vs studs as well as over 20 sets of studs.

$400- is cheap insurance. Plus Fabre Midel at Lakemba have the Rover V8 stud set on the shelf and at comparable prices. It'll be an early set with the third row studs but cheaper than ordering the right set with less.

If you need a hand to put it back together let me know. Tensioning sequence AND torque stages are paramount.
