The recovery points came from Michael Samootin as well. He definately has them for the Series II and I think he has designed some for the Series I as well.

The steering protector is from AMV in Ringwood. It is good and light (made from aluminium) but dints very easily. Again Michael has designed a steering protector that is very similar but a lot stronger and a bit cheaper.

If you want to go higher than a 2" lift with the Disco then Slunnie is definately the man to speak to but there is a lot of work involved in doing it.

For more info on Disco II stuff try joining this forum as it is purely Disco II and there is a lot of knowledge in there.

Hi Walker

Slunnie has been a great help indeed for me on some of my D2 info. Are you saying your rig only has a 2" lift though???!! Looks a lot bigger than that.
Still at a loss as to how to access the D2 Yahoo forum even though I am registered with them and fairly computer literate would you beleive. I've heard it is a good source of info but can't seem to get into the bloody thing....maybe I'm not as computer literate as I thought.

Yep. Only 50mm lift. But those tyres are almost 5" larger in diameter than standard so that gives you another 2.5" lift.

Did you try the link to the Yahoo site above? Not long ago the site changed its name from AussiediscoII to d2au so it will have a different log in.

I assume you have done a bit of cutting to the gaurds and adjusted steering stops etc?! I am about to fit some larger tyres to my D2 to,
a. gain more traction and
b. gain more height
so would be keen to know what you have done to allow you to fit those tyres - Simex?

No cutting of the guards is needed. Just a 50mm lift, adjust the steering stops and cut a little bit of the plastic sill behind the front wheel.

protecter,recovery points @ the rock sliders so that will be the weekend
