Timeing cover coolant leak

Anybody got a ballpark figure on what it would cost to repair or replace timeing cover that is leaking coolant on 3.5 V8.

Thanks,

Peat.

Pull the water pump and repair it with one of the two pack fillers, the metal putty type. I'm assuming its gone between the two heater outlet pipes.

I did my old Rangie around 10 or so years ago but buggered if I can remember the name of the stuff. Worked a treat though.

Graeme Cooper sells refurbished front covers:

Front cover - (ETC7385R)
Repaired front V8 engine cover.
These covers first get welded up where the corrosion has gone through then a extra hard
ceramic coating is sprayed over the insided surface to help prevent it corroding through again. These covers are sold with out the oil pump & are exchange. Most comon on 3.5lt engines in classic Rnage Rover County & Series

Since you are in Melbourne, try Toorak tractors in Braeside . I bought a later model Timing case cover 3.9 litre for $120 , other places wanted $380 second hand!
It takes a day to do your self taking your time.
If like mine lots of fiddly bolts to remove from PAS bracket etc. Crankshaft pulley etc. Done it twice now so it's not hard.

I took mine off and got some one to weld it up for me and then i set it up in a milling machine and cleaned up the water pump mounting face. The welding cost me about $30, any boat welder can do it.
