vk comodore extractors
for the series nutters ------
any one here running a holden 12 port head six with factory style vk extractors?
i've done some rough eyeballing and looks like a tight fit.
also has any one fitted the 12 port efi manifold ? again a borderline fit ?
i'd like to know of any problems now as if i leave it to the last minute mr sledgehammer will probably come out of retirement.
thanks

I don't have the 12 port head since mines a 186 (siamese port) but yeah I have VK exhaust in modified form of course. The engine LHS engine mount needed to be ground down a bit to get the front set to sit properly against the head. Also watch primary pipe six, mine is almost touching the starter and the clutch slave so I've wrapped the exhaust in that fibreglass stuff before fitting.
You will also need to bend the twin pipes (secondaries) down to clear the firewall or do what I did, cut it all off at the 3 into 1 collector, then weld two 2" mandrel bends to form an 'S' which brings them under the firewall neatly. Then you can either weld the collector you cut off on and go the quiet single system or if you like the sound of speed go the twin exhaust system.
I don't have the VK EFI manifold either but the dual throat rochester. It's neat but it fits.

This is what you have to do or just buy these ones.
Similar to what mine look like.
