FLEXY COILS NO MORE

now this is getting weird...

after talking to Dobinsons...and them telling me they dont, and wont produce any flexi coils for the defender i got a quote in my emails today ( i fustratingly agreed to them just sending me a quote for whatever 2" inch (or 45mm to be exact) lift springs.

NOW... the quote says "3" flexy coils"

..part numbers..
C51- 198V
C51-199V

hmmmmm

think ill email back and ask for specs...and ask if i can have them in 2"

out of interest what part number coils did you end up getting, and what specs if ou dont mind? ...also what would you change about them if you went custom?

Yep they are the same coils I fitted. Have a read of my build thread under member rides and a recent post (in April) in another suspension thread were I spilled the beans on my coils.

I plan to order custom coils that are about 440lbs and about 540mm free length to return the rear to near OEM 130 load rating and a the lift of 2". The alternative is air bags so I can adjust height and firmness as required.

thanks MLD, really appreciate the info..

so with those srings you have (the same as the part numbers Dobinsons quoted me) gave you 2 or 3 inch lift front and back? im assuming you have a steel bullbar and winch also?

If it gave more that 2" lift...have you done anything with the ront and rear uni's, or front and rear drive shaft? or caster correction of any kind?

Ben at APT Fab is offering 2" lift flexy coils. Just fitted some to the truck.

hey...running terrafirma +5" shocks front and back mate

heres another pic showing rear tuck and front droop...wod love some superior superflex front arms!

Rick79 just wondering if you have loaded up the defender with those springs and how is the road handling. I have King springs in my defender at the moment but find them very harsh but great for when I go away for extended camping trips just looking for other options.
