I was quoted $2800 fitted for the Maxidrive with axles for a rear diff (Salisbury). Is $1000 reasonable for fitting? 8O

$2800 is a bit exxy for fitting/supply cost. I paid $2350 total for my front maxi. The fitting costs were $570 which included a couple of bits and pieces such as machining and new seals, etc..
Shop around a bit for a better price. I haggled a bit with cash and saved about $300 total on supply/fit

The pre-88 Rangies don't require the CV upgrade as the old style 2 piece RR CV's are quite strong anyway and handle the front maxi no worries.Quote:

The 110 County jobs I have heard are strong but a bit brittle. One bloke in our club with a 130 Defender was negotiatuing a easy-ish hill on a recent trip and smashed the entire unit 8O
So that's the answer to your question
