    thrustbearing retaining clip on my tdi manual

    Can any one tell me please what retains the thrust bearing retaining clip insitu. its at the bottom of the clutch fork. It just keeps falling out when installing.

    That little plastic clip is of no importance.
    It is only there to aid installation.
    I guess it keeps the bearing up against the slippers whilst you are struggling to get the gearbox back in.
    If you cant get it to stay, just heat the ends up with a lighter and squash it a little, then jam it in.

    flywheel thicknness on the tdi

    The other problem I have come across, the fly wheel after being machined is now 1.200 mm smaller than the thickness that the manual says it can be. Can I get away with this or will I have clutch problems , The reason I pulled the gearbox out is the thrust bearing fell apart.
