Need advice on carby, starting challenges

Can anyone help with advice on carby, starting probs? I have just recond. my carby and still have starting troubles. Battery seems ok. Could it be fule pump or starter motor? Also can anyone tell me how long the car should be warmed up in the mornings? Thanks in advance.

You will need to give more details. Carby make, problems etc.

    If it's a Series.

Normally I will run it for a couple of minutes & then drive off, pushing the choke in when the Cold Start light comes on.

Difficult starting after a carby overhaul is normally mixture.

After changing the gaskets etc, how many turns back out did you reset the mixture screw ???

Between 1½~2 turns out from lightly seated is enough to get most to start and run. Rest is done with Vac. gauge or the age old pipe down the carb throat and other end in ear. Should be a nice smooth "gurgle" if it's tuned right... well that's what it sounds like to me and the way I tune my carby.

Haven't got an air leak somewhere around the carby base ?

Warm up ?? About 5 minutes. The holden motor in HS takes less than 2 minutes to come up to coolant gauge operating temp but to me that's not warmed up. So usually allow 5 minutes to be sure.
