Thinking a little more about those wheel hubs. I don't see how they would make a difference to a wheel wobble.
The wheel is held only by the studs. If the wheel is lined up on the studs and the nuts are done up properly then the centre of the wheel is irrelevant. The only thing the insert could do is make sure the wheel is correctly centred on the studs.
I misaligned a wheel once when changing a wheel and had to retighten the wheel nuts when I heard slight "crack" as I set off down the road. The wheel had shifted on the studs.

In my experience you can definitely have a minor wheel misalignment on the studs that will make you think you've got a wheel balance issue, trust me, there's plenty of examples on this forum too. The original boost alloys are hub centric and avoid this issue. It's also very hard to get a decent balance done on LR 5 stud wheels in my experience. I've also found plenty of guys having issues with balancing BFG tyres.

I'd suggest trying balancing beads and carefully fitting for wheels yourself with a view to centralising them over the centre bores.

If it makes you feel any better I've spent the last 60,000kms unable to get my wheels balanced to my satisfaction...:censored: mine were recently 'rebalanced' and were bad enough that I checked the entire front end (including adjusting swivel preload), stock wheels back on, drives perfectly. Bloody frustrating!
