Thanks Andy,
mine is a recurring problem, I did a disc about 5 years ago and once a year I do something silly that makes it flare up, this time it was a wheelbarrow of wet concrete.
At the moment I am sort of functioning with really bad sciatica. Have to have my computer stacked on boxes at work so I can work standing up!
Makes it difficult to crawl under the vehicle! I didn't get a chance to look yesterday and ironically it wasn't squeaking at all this morning. :?
SCIATICA
I HATE THAT WORD It Caused me HELL
I tell you,as everybody who has had a back problem has a cure, somebody worth trying.
Dr Salmon(Pain Specialist) at Bethesta Hospital in Nedlands.I got 2 seperate sessions of Cortisone into the right siatic nerve root and disc.Go in there in agony walk out as superman. My problem was severe muscle wasting due to pain, the cortisone stops the pain and allowed the muscles to re-grow/develop as they wont wilst pain is there.
The day I get backpain and siatica in any sort of major way Im straight back to Dr Salmon.

maybe a dash of lithium complex grease with some MOS2 ?
(wish it was that easy to fix a crook back, but mines now better than before, just took a few years of work and a number of different approaches. There is light Frenchie, just have to find what works for you)
i nearly pulled appart the whole dash on a jag once trying to find a squeak....
the deeper i dug....the further forward the squeak moved......
i finally found it by running along next to the car (at slow speed!!).....
then i discovered that by resting one finger on the left hand front guard with the car stopped caused the squeak....
........worn shock bushes.........
two hours to diagnose and two mins to repair....
I reckon bushes too
i've had the same sort of squeaking (in time with the wheel rotation when the car is cold) on my rangie for about 6 months now! and i STILL haven't found the cause!!! :?
it's well overdue for new suspension and bushes, so i'm hoping that will fix it when i get them fitted!!!
but i've just been ignoring it for about 2 weeks, it just blends in with the rest of the strange noises coming from my rangie!!!
cheers,
bryce
Well my back has now recovered sufficiently to take the wheel off, and the problem was easily fixed. A couple of very small stones jammed between the disc and the disc guard next to the caliper. This is a spot where the hose doesn't reach, you really need to get in there with something like an old hacksaw blade. Next mud trip I'll take all the wheels off and clean properly.
Blessed silence. 8)
