    Series 3 firewalls

    Hi
Can anyone clarify if both series 3 and series 3 stage 1 have the same firewall or does the stage 1 have a bigger tunnel for the lt95 transmission . Also are the floors and transmission cover hump the same or different for the same reason .
    Thankyou to all .

There are at least 2 different firewalls for a series 3 - the 4 and 6 cylinder versions are different - not sure about the Stage 1 though - I suspect it would be different - for the reason you mentioned - the LT95 gearbox - I seem to recall someone saying once before that the tunnel and floors were different, but I could have dreamt that.

Yep, 3 different firewalls for a Series 3 - these guys build new ones - they show 3 different part numbers - 1971 to 1984, Land-Rover Series 3 - Pegasus Parts remanufacture new Land-Rover bulkheads for Series models.

As far as I can see, looking at the parts book, the six cylinder is different, the four cylinder up to 1975 is different and post 1975 the same one (MRC6080) was used for the four and V8 (but the four needs adapter plates if using MRC6080.

The floor and gearbox panels are different for the 4,6,and V8.

(Isuzu uses same panels as V8, I'm pretty sure)

4cyl S111 and Stage 1 have the same bulkhead. The tunnel, adapter from the tunnel onto the bulkhead, seat box and floor plates (I think) are different.

I have a S111 bulkhead here ready for transplant into my stage 1. The bulkheads appear identical.

    Cheers,
    Chris
