Steering
I have noticed that there is a little slack/free play in the Disco's steering.
I have had a quick look and noticed that the steering shaft that goes into the power steering box has a bit of play when you have the engine off and u turn the shaft by hand !!
Is this normal :?:

Is it the steering shaft or play from the input to the box?
You can adjust the boxes to get rid of some play...

I should say its the input shaft as it is turning a little bit in the box.

In a word, yes this will fix it. It is a serviceable item due for checking and adjustment if necessary at every service interval according to both manuals I have. No more than an eighth of a turn at a time, adjust and check. A tiny bit of play is essential because the worm gear wears most around the middle (straight ahead and left and right half a turn from there) and if you tighten it completely in the straight ahead position it will be excessive at both locks.
Should take all of 3 mins to do.

Just to make sure, is it the allen key hole on top of the steering box ??
It also looks like it has a nut on it ?? Do I loosen the nut first and then adjust the allen key bolt ??
The other question is how the hell do u get at both, they look a bit hard to get too !!!

Correct!
The allen grub screw is the preload on the worm drive, the hex nut is just a locker. As to how to get at both... You'll just have to work it out!
