The TD4 is a double OHC engine (4 valve head) Commonrail direct injection and is 1951cc. The TD4 is a BMW engine that owes nothing to Rover.
All TD4s have the the BMW engine and gearbox fitted.
The TD4 is related to the TD6 (BMW) but the TD5 is a close relative to the L series and not the BMW engines.

Correct.... The TD4 is the same lump that's fitted to the BMW 320 diesel and has nothing to do with the TD5.
