    D2 diff into defender 130

I have a 2001 d2 from which I am swapping the engine and auto into my 2000 Defender 130. The d2 is fitted with a maxi drive diff lock and axles and I am wondering if this could also be swapped into the defender.

No the 2000 Defender would have a salisbury diff far better that a D2 set up
Sell the Maxi drive set up to fund a arb air locker and Hytough axles

I thought that might be the case. What would the d2 rear end be worth?

    Watching with interest.
Almost finished mine. Will you be using the D2 electrics ECU etc?
The D2 front diff centre will go straight into your Defer housing, so use the better of the two. Pity about the rear.

No I plan on using the defender ecu and a compushift from Ashcrofts. Should make it fairly simple.

Neither will fit, whole rear axle swap will give you different stud pattern and maxi wont fit into the sals.

    D2 diff into defender 130

Is the D2 housing the same as D1?
If so is it possible to just change the D2 hubs/stubs for D1 items (which are exactly the same as defender)?
I'm picking it's not an option...

No not the same, the centre will fit a D1 housing but nothing else will.
