It's taking some time, after each reply I have to do the Sunday morning stagger down to the mechanic's driveway where it's resting.

Thanks for the offer Tony, I was already out when you posted the message.
So, I've had a calm look at it.
I missed out on a Red Cedar sideboard on the side of the road because of broken Landy. Very unhappy. Worse, saw some idiot trying to shoehorn said sideboard into a two-door hatchback as I drove past later, there were bits of broken cedar flying from all sides.
So I looked at the problem. It idles fine, had it sitting there for five minutes or more and not a worry, same with aircon on.
Hoses don't seem to be leaking or too soft, hmm, how soft is too soft? I squeezed and fiddled while the engine was running and couldn't get them to do anything.
The vacuum/boost signal hoses into injector pump rub against each other, and will need replacing soonish, but I couldn't find any vacuum or holes with my trust cd mirror or some spit.
Jumped in to go get the sideboard and didn't get 100m before it started to happen again. So I'm thinking that the engine needs to be under full load before it becomes a problem.
I reckon this should rule out water in the sedimenter.
?
Cheers

...............If it's only doing it under load..........could be the Diaphragm in the boost compensator like i said.......if it is perished, then the required boost will not be available under load, and so the engine will be overfuelled as such.
It is easy to remove the cover ( gently) and inspect the small seal to see if it is intact.

I need to correct my post.Quote:

Love my mechanic.
I go in there and tell him what's going on.
He says, 'go away and fiddle about with it some more. If you're still having trouble bring it in and I have a look.'
Reckons dodgy fuel - thanks zook.
He saves up my money for the big worries.
Excellent chap.
Cheers

No, no, no....its the other way around.Quote:

Your mechanic loves YOU 8O 8O 8O
You go away, have your fiddle, stuff up a million and one settings, you go back to him and he charges you the earth to fix your problem...that you compounded in the first place :!:
Check your fuel...but apart from that, its all guess work
Cheers,
Well of course the 130 is still sitting in the street outside the mechanic's waiting for me to come and play.
Had a go at draining sedimentor and fuel filter thinking that something exciting might come out. Odd thing is nothing came out. What did I do wrong, or is this the problem?
Bought a new fuel filter today at Repco, $40 for the repco, $77 for the ryco. Bought the repco. Is that a good price? Doesn't matter too much, cos cheaper would have been further away, but I'm curious.
Is there a replacement filter for the sedimentor? Repco had no idea and I could find any mention around the place.
Tomorrow I'll head down and have another play.
Cheers
Simon
