    hose pipe change

    Hi everybody,

We get radiator hose pipe changed, on our Freelander 2001, V6 Patrol, as the section above the "T" gave up.

Now after the hose has been replaced by a brand new genuine one, the car do crank up but doest start, as there is no current/power.

    Please help.

    Thanks

    Maneesh

    Hi Maneesh,
Sounds like you may have disturbed a wiring connector in the ignition system while changing the radiator hose. See if you can see any wiring plugs/sockets disconnected in the area you were working. There is fuel in the tank??

    Hi Mate,

    Thanks for the guidance.

Yes, there is ample fuel in the tank (almost full), can't find any knocked off wires/cables/plugs/sockets.

The car was perfect before the hose pipe broke down.

Please let me now if I need to check any other things.

    Thanks once again.

Did the engine boil (overheat) when the hose pipe failed, if so you may have engine damage, Regards Frank.

    Hi All,

I drove the car about 2 kms, early in the morning (that was the very 1st drive of the day), are there any chances that the engine could have overheated in such a short distance?

    Thanks

I wouldn't have thought so. So, the car still won't start?

Are you in the RACV? If so, see if they will come out and have a look at it for you. If not, perhaps look up a mobile mechanic who can check it out for you.

If it still cranks over OK but won't fire, a mechanic should be able to find the source of the problem. Still sounds like a lack of sparks or total lack of fuel delivery.

    Hi,

RACV guy reckon that there is some major problem as there is "No Compression".

    Al the electricals are fine.

There is no spark, got checked by LR specialist, he did all the checks, still no spark, costed me $400, he reckons he needs about 7-8 hours (@$110/hour and still there is no surity, that he can detect the problem!!!).

A guidance/help will be highly appreciated as I love my LR too much and want it back on the road the soonest possible.

    Thanks everybody.

Talking is it due to battery?

    Hi All,

Is there slightest of chance that this is due to battery, as the battery doesn't holds power and everybody is trying to start with "jump starter".

    Thanks
