Update:
Dellow automotive will make a bellhousing for the conversion- apparantly a workshop in Hornsby has also indicated that there has been interest in the LS-1/ZF match up for RR's. Cost has been indicated at about $650. The downside is Dellow is closed until 20 Jan 06! and it will take 2-3 weeks after that to get the bellhousing.. which.. leads to..
Kayver Engineering- will take the ls-1 torque converter and the ZF torque converter and make a torque convertor that doesnt need any other adaptpr bits- cost indicated about $550
So far, only have to figure the engine mounts out... on that note- does anyone know if the Defender frame (eg disco kids LS-1 fender) is the same as the RR? (ie will the engine mount that disco kid used work for the RR?)

Dude
They will work.
Basically the mounts are a short piece of box section with the end of a rear trailing arm from a rangie welded into chassis end. On the other end is a flat plate drilled to fit the block. The trailing arm end was used so the bushes are easy to get and you will never snap an engine mount.
The box pipe is cut to the length that you need it ie to keep the engine at the correct height in the engine bay. Then weld the cup on the chassis where required. Just make sure the motor is going to fit into the rangie engine bay before cutting the original mounting points off
Here is the best photo Ive got
