Has anyone been to autobarn to check out the prices?

The only mob I've found online with prices are a mobile installation mob and they charge from $495 for purchase and installation. See here for details.

I'd be interested if someone could get a catalogue from autobarn so I could checkout their prices. Judging from previous posts I assume that in the Defender I could use a vacuum operated model?

I'd really prefer to have the controls on the steering wheel, but don't like having to change batteries ops: So infrared is out.. and I don't think command has a steering wheel one that runs off the horn wire or some such.

So if anyone is heading to autobarn anytime soon.....

Thanks Trev, I'd already looked there :-)

Their website is a taster, just enough to get you interested. No prices, no full details - just come in and we can get our salesman to talk to you

For example here is the link to their Cruise Control page :?

Enough to get you interested, but not enough for me to make a call on.

Being based (as I am at the moment) in Switzerland, and considering my itinerary for the first month (see post "96days to go") I was thinking / hoping to get a Cruise Control installed before I got back - or at least to have it ready and waiting for me when I got back

Can you email them and get one posted over? 96 days should see it easily.

This is a very small sample.. but I went to get a few things at autobarn the other day. Their prices were at least 20% more than supercheap

For example, 5l of Shell Helix Ultra at Autobarn is $67. Exactly the same thing at supercheap is $47.

I just buy the Command cruise controls from K-Mart. It's only the basic system they sell, not too sure of the model (maybe AP150), but they've changed a fair bit over the years. There's a choice of stalk control type or dash mount type.
They're usually around the $175-200 mark but the best time to buy is on one of the 15-20% off days.

The latest one I have (in the RR) has illuminated soft touch buttons & a 10 step calibration. My older ones only have 2 step calibration but they still work brilliantly.
