OK, we'd need to fab mounts and obtain hose and fittings, maybe use some sexy Speedflow ones ?

Yes, but when I looked through the catalogue they all seemed to be 280mm or so wide, just various heights.
I was thinking a wider one might be better so I could have a lower stack height.

The BD one actually looks like a PWR in that photo.

Like Slunnie, mine is attached as far forward as possible and is in series with the original, leaves lots of air room behind, I also bought the half inch tube model so no pressure difference,, at least that was the idea--
