Do you think by the time the Ashcrofts get here the price plus compressor would still be cheaper than the Harrop?

Keith, it's been two nearly years since I bought bits from Ashcroft's, but it was painless and well worth it. (centre ATB plus t/case o/haul kit)
The price for an Ashcroft locker at tonight's exchange rate is A$814.00.
Get a quote from Dave and his staff at Ashcrofts for freight, you might still sneak in under the magic A$1000 landed. (I can't remember if the GST cut off includes or excludes freight ?)
A Harrop is listed at $1728 incl. GST.

I like the idea of a compressor permanently mounted, it makes it easier to reinflate tyres.

Even if you got hit with GST on the Ascroft plus duty, that only adds 5%+10% to the total.

If you can get better price on the Harrop it'd be nice, but I think ARB have set the pricing for Oz and everyone else follows.

I didn't watch it all, but saw no mention of the Ashcroft - how do they compare?

I have a Detroit, and for the most part am pretty happy. Great bang for buck, and given the Defender is exactly light, perhaps fairly suitable. Not sure if I had to replace it what I would go with, though.

Of the selectable lockers Ashcroft's locker is up with the Jack Mc on strength and reliability IMO (TJM's Pro Locker is a Jack McNamara locker built under license.)
They don't have the O ring leaking issue some ARB's get due to the way the locking collar is activated, and the dog mechanism that locks the side gear to the hemisphere is extremely strong .

The thing I like about my Maxi Drives is that the light comes on when it actually engages. Not just when the switch is on. None of the others can do this except that cable operated Ox locker.
Anyone know if they are made for Rover diffs?

    Keith

It seems not. Just googled it and only made for Dana,s. Might work on a Salisbury.
    Should have googled earlier.

Had a quick look on their website when I posted the video the other day.
    Nothing listed under land rover.
Heaps of options for the yank stuff though.
