"Air On Board" brand compressors- anyone used them?

Was up in the high country over the weekend and the tired old ARB compressor on my 130 seem to have died, I'm looking for a suitable replacement. One of the blokes on the trip had the ARB portable twin compressor kit which was very impressive but obscenely expensive. I already have all the lines, 10L (approx) tank, wiring and switchgear in place to just swap the compressor unit itself. I want to be able to inflate 4 255/85 tyres in a reasonable timeframe, have a reasonable chance of seating a tubeless bead (hence the tank) as well as running the airlockers.
I came across this compressor which has specs comparable to the ARB twin jobbie at a much more sensible price. Wondering if anyone has experience with them and can comment on the quality & reliability?

I don't care if I'm flamed for this..
4WD super centre "thumper" is cheap as chips and does a great job.
How long will it last against the ARB? I don't know but compressors typically don't just fail rather deteriorate.
So might be an option to consider. There's puncy made in China junk and "competitive" made in China.
    IMO this is the latter.
    Big bang for buck.

If you were happy with the ARB and it did the job you will find the parts price very reasonable
I have rebuilt the little blue ones (cmk12??) for very little

I also have a 4WD supercheap twin cylinder "Thumper" that I have had for a few months now and can't fault it, Except that the bag it comes with is pretty flimsy and the zipper has parted company with the rest of the bag.
On one trip I used it to air up 5 trucks and it did the job quickly and it didn't even get hot and bothered either.
However it is a lot bigger and heavier than the ARB units so I doubt that it would be suitable for an "Air On Board" application due to it's size.

Add an air tank and you will have an excellent setup.

Seconded. They also do an even bigger one now, but mine is awesome.

The thumper looks interesting; longevity might be an issue and that's why I was interested in anyone's experiences with the AOB unit, I don't like buying stuff that will fail in a short time. One thing I particularly like about the AOB is the remote intake air filter- thus the ability to mount the intake port out of the dust & mud.
As for rebuilding the existing compressor, I actually have 2 compressors mounted on the vehicle- the current model small ARB one that was on the vehicle when I bought it and an earlier model ARB that I got with an airlocker about 28 years ago. I doubt parts for that are still available. I mounted the second compressor to make the job of inflating tyres less of a pain, plus the fact that it was not doing anything sitting on the shelf in the shed. With the two working well, tyre inflating was nice and quick and I don't want to go back to just the one little unit. Come to think of it, both of them have been rebuilt at some stage. I suspect they both got a gutful of muddy water a few months ago.
So still interested in any experience with the AOB compressor if anyone has had one.

I'm looking to get the same compressor, with a tank. Can't really figure out an easy to fit location for the tank tho.
But in a few weeks I'll get one. I'm thinking for my purposes a 4lt tank should be enough.
Beauty of the AOB is that they're local to me .. ie. both Aussie made and just around the corner from my dads house!

I've been living with a cheapo Chinese compressor for about the last 16 years.
Surprisingly, it's lasted for this long, with pretty regular usage.
It's going to be sad to eventually see it go(donating to dad tho) .. it takes up too much space in it's bag in the tool box.
It's recently done some hard work inflating the air jack when I want to lift the D1 to fix stuff from underneath, and other than the point that it's slow to do the job, I've been waiting for the day it finally gives up the ghost.

I have no fear of cheapo Chinese stuff myself, and my thinking is; you know exactly what you're getting in for, so if it does break on 'ya in quick time you shouldn't be too surprised.
But when the product lasts 16 years with regular usage then you know you got a bargain.

Now with the D1, I just want a vehicle fitted comp, a tank would be nice if I can fit one, and distributor block for fittings and solenoids and stuff.
I'm going to see them in person one day to see if we can work out a suitable location for a tank before I buy.

Just looked at their website. I thought they'd be dearer than that.
