Ritters TD5 enhancement: Chip or remap?

When I bought my D2 I found that it had a Ritter's TD5 Enhancement installed. Does anyone know anything about these? Was it a remap or an added chip? I Have never bothered to find out before.

Ritter is still in business, maybe you phone them and get the goss from the horses mouth?

Year model? Look at the ecu part number. MSB = chip NNN = remap

99 build, I believe. First reg 2000. It's not here atm. I'm just considering whether to stick with it or go for something a little newer.
