    Thanks Don,

Quickdraw's bellhousings were covered in post #59.

The link to Uncle Douglas' info is good to know and a handy read. I assumed that the Quickdraw bellhousing for the R380 suited a R380 from a defender. It seems that the bellhousing was designed for the stumpy R380 with the short input shaft. Later in the article it shows an extension housing for the long shaft (defender) R380.

I spent 9hrs driving back from the VHC last night and really wanted extra grunt on the long hills. The poor 2.4 even with tune struggled to hold speed on hills and heated up when asked to do so.

Current: (Steed) MY11 Audi RS5 phantom black (the daily driver)

    Hey MLD...

Just curious here, but I assume you're running 35's on your 130? What Transfer Case do u have in it? the 1.4 or the 1.2?

1.1:1 high range matched to 4.11 final ratio and 35s. While arse about gives me the same rpm to kph relationship as a Puma with factory high range, final ratio and 235/85's.

Thanks for that... always was wondering what people do to their gearing when running 35's

Has anyone found any info on using a Cummins 2.8l from a Foton Tunland? I presume the engine has an ECU. Is the ECU a stand alone unit or is it integrated into the Tunland electrical systems? Transplating the engine would be easy enough, but unravelling the ECU to get it working could be an effort?

A bit more searching, it appears that the Cummins ECU is installed on the bulkhead. Photos from wreckers have the same aluminium finned ECU casing as the crate motor photos. Next question will be how integrated the wiring is to the Tunland loom?

I don't know, but hopefully with it being an installed crate motor it will be fairly isolated apart from the essentials like start, power, throttle and dash.
    Cheers

It looks like some Tunland workshop and parts manuals may be available as PDFs on the net. I'll have a peruse and see if they reveal anything...
