Single Spark Plug Leads - RV8 Coil Packs

The coil packs on my RV8 have been moved from the rear of the engine to the front passenger side of the engine - all the spark plug leads except for one fit the engine and I have been trying to buy a single spark plug lead suitable for the coil pack without much luck.

Supercheap, Bursons, Auto 1, AutoBarn all sell leads individually but they are all the old style dissy leads not coil pack leads. Repco do not sell individual leads at all.

I have modified an old dissy style lead by crimping the contact on the dissy end so it fits the contact in the coil pack but as it is not insulated you need to keep fingers away when the engine is running as HT voltage does escape to fingers if too close (on a coil pack lead, the contact in the coil end is insulated in addition to the external insulation). However I would prefer a proper lead if I can find one.

Does anyone know who sells individual leads suitable for LR coil packs?

    Thanks

I've not found anyone selling those leads separately. You could try removing the crimp and boot off your too short lead and crimping it to a replacement one. Either that or ask around for one out of a retired set and possibly swap the new boots onto it. Or just buy a new set off Mario and accept that you will have some spare leads.

And really why would you not just replace the whole set of leads as a precaution
This is similar to changing your oil and not the filters or visa versa false economics
Unless your super tight for coin spending

I think you'll find that there is a full set of new leads fitted except that one of them is too short because of the coil pack being moved.

Because they are a brand new set and I managed to get all the leads to fit in with the revised position of the coil pack - all except one despite rearranging them quite a few times.

    As Bee Utey has indicated

Ok, so as it would seem that other than buying another new set from Mario, I am not going to be able to get a single lead (yet Supercrap sell hundreds individually to fit 25yo cars) - I will revert to plan B - and use the old modified lead I have and put some Heat Shrink tube over the connector so it is double insulated like the original - then I will get Rangieman to test if the insulation holds up

    Thanks for the input

Ok so the obvious is to move the coil pack but i guess that can be time consuming

When I bought the Magnecors, they (Thundercords) made them up while waited so getting custom lengths isn't an issue, nor would be, I would suspect, getting a single lead.
