Sure is, as scarry says the country of manufacture is always written on the tyre.
If you really want to get into it the date code stamp prefix will tell you which factory etc. as well as the week and year of manufacture.
What is a tire date code and where do I find it? | TireBuyer.com
Deano :)
I recently bought 9 x 255/85R16 TOYO MT's off Tyroola for $252 each... can't complain... BFG were $359...
Well I just had my mind made up for me, got an absolutely crakin' deal on some Goodyear MTR Kevlars which was so good I had to take it (think about a hundred bucks less per tyre than the cheapest price you'd expect to find them or any other 4WD tyre for...actually pretty much the same price you got those Toyo MTs for). So of course I got six of them :D
But the data, technology, engineering, etc is shared. ;)
Having said that we used to find that Japanese racing Dunlops were much better than UK racing Dunlops!
Consistency, build quality, etc were totally different, so I take your point Mike. [biggrin]
Interestingly the Michelin/BFG Raid/Dakar tyres used to be produced in France but all off road racing tyres now come out of the one BFG factory in the US.
re factories, I've seen BFG AT's with 'Made in Japan' on them, Goodyear Wrangler AT's out of Indonesia, etc.
Tyres have been made in different countries for quite some time now. In 1971, I fitted four Michelins to my 1969 Toyota Crown. Among those four tyres, there were three different countries of origin. They all seemed to last the same.
