Well, do you really need 5 ? In other words do you have a remaining used tyre which can be used as a spare ?

In any case (FWIW and IMHE) you'll get a much better run from BFGs

I do need 5 unfortunately, I've got old Cooper ATRs on there at the moment but they're a good ten years old I think, so rubber has got to be nice and hard right now so although the spare has heaps of tread, I wouldn't want to rely on it for much.

I had the KO2s on a work ute and they were great, don't think I'd get KM2s because I don't really want full muds but also the KM3 might come out soon...right haha...think I'm pretty set on the Maxxs but just want to find a slightly better price, even $350 a piece would be an improvement, still haven't called Tyrepower though who are the proper dealers.

Been there three times with no problems. Gibb, Gunbarrel, Simmo, VHC etc.
Never a winner with Ford v Holden type debates.

What exactly were your bad experiences with Coopers? It's all well and good saying buy something else, but take me on the journey

Or search the forum.... Buying Cooper tyres....Any suggestions?

Delamination, chipping, panel damage from failing tread, blow outs, bands of tread peeling off, bubbles side walls, bruising, quick ageing (go hard and then dangerous), crap warranty (go offroad and it’s void)...

Definitely not a Ford V Holden style debate, I can recommend 5 brands long before Bloopers would even rate a mention.

They’re an over priced, over rated, Tyre..

(Now I wonder when this will get fed back - most of my comments seem to) Buying Cooper tyres....Any suggestions?

I remember reading lots of this with the older Coopers but I thought they sorted a lot of that out with the ST Maxx...not sure, a large number of people really rate them though, usually higher than most.

So what the heck do I buy then just get some trusty BFGs??

How about some Goodyear MTR Kevlars...found an okay price on some...just to throw a spanner in the works! Dammit I thought I had my tyre choice well and truly sorted and now it's all thrown up in the air again by the magic of the internet.

My personal experience is that the tyres come apart and on the muds the wear rate is very high. The carcass is also not stable for handling on the road other than at high pressures. The rep stated that they were fine with the missing lugs and to ensure pressures were dropped as soon as it touches dirt - I do anyway and they continued to disintegrate.

They boast that they're not a standard fitment on any vehicle, my opinion is that they are not high enough in quality for it and I dont have faith in the company.

That i my story, there are others which are different - Winaje's is an interesting one.

My opinion also is why use that company's tyres, when there are others whos tyres dont have a history of giving many people problems (along with those who didn't). Deppending on wha you want in a tyres there are others like BFG, Goodyear, Pirelli etc that have proven over the years to be very good and relatively drama free in comparison to Cooper.
    Cheers
