Don't know a thing about injectors, but I've done the research on fuel injection pumps. Unfortunately only for the 300tdi. hth anyway.

My mechanic was looking at taking my pump out. He reckoned about $1200 for a service. Plus, costs for getting it out and in again, plus once you've got the timing belt out you're probably going to change it, same with fan belts, and tensioner bearings, etc.

Very expensive proposition with all the extra stuff.

Looked on google via part no. and found injector pump in UK (new) for 500 pounds plus freight. Some prices in UK include 17 or so percent VAT in which case stuff gets cheaper. All up it looked a close price to get a new one shipped over, even if it cost 100+ pounds for shipping. Make sure you know if EGR or non-EGR. I have heard that EGR works fine in non-EGR, but manual I read seemed to read that they're slightly different, besides the EGR stuff.

    Cheers

    Timing

To add to Mr Rick's info re timing - the general go is using a 3/8th pin to set timing. However, there is a small amount of movement available btdc and atdc. The gap in the pump wheel is 12mm, and the hold hole is 10mm. A 12mm drill, with a 10mm shank fits neatly. Use emery paper to make the top of the drill smooth, and wrap the sharp edges with tape. Wiggle the drill bit in and out, because it is a tight fit. Then you can be sure of being 100% TDC.

    Quote TDI injectors - Karcraft

Hi there just got my online quote from karcraft -

200TDI Injectors - $257.72 ea - and it doesnt say it but I bet this is a plus GST price - pretty dissapointing from them - generally they have great prices - unless thats the retail price.

    British 4WD.com
200TDI injectors - $273.55 ea - doenst say but ill bet thats plus GST too - either way not good.

There is a huge range of variation on overseas prices - I have been surfing gen parts only and I got the following on part number ETC8412

    Rimmer Bros
    ETC8412: 194.00 inc vat (pounds)
    ETC8412P : 80.85 exc vat (pounds)

Paddock spares : 58.00 ext vat (pounds)

Jagspares.com.au : $514.80 inc GST HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ROFL

British Off Road .com : $408.07 +GST HA HA HA FOCROFL

    LRdirect.com :90.39 (pounds) Vat in

Waiting on bearmach to get back to me ....

    Injectors

Obviously there is a difference btwn 200 & 300 Tdi injectors - that's news to me.

(For the others - ERR3339 is the PN for 300TDI, and for EDC TDi owners, you'll need 3 of them and 1 ERR3337)

I've confirmed via email that paddocks will not charge VAT on purchases to Australia. Having bought things from overseas by ordinary mail, I can confirm that Customs only bother to collect GST when the value of the item hits AUD $500.

Since Customs go by the value on the form, I can only suggest you buy two, wait two weeks and buy two more.

That gets you under the Customs GST ( I'm led to believe there is no more import tax as a private citizen) threshold. Since airmail goes on weight you shouldn't pay more than if you bought all 4 at once. (Generally - within a couple of $)

I got mine from Paddocks - the freight is not much and they were VAT free.

I generally find that on small parcels the VAT portion pays the freight to AUS

Just make sure they send them via Royal Mail.
