Help! I've broken it. 2.4tdci limping after SCV replacement
I installed a new Suction Control Valve yesterday (2008 2.4 defender), pain of a job but got it done; I test drove it and it went like a train for about 20 minutes then completely lost power and became barely driveable. This morning I hooked up the nanocom and there were an assortment of fault codes, I did an 'injector learn' and cleared the faults. It drove fine for a bout 2 minutes then again lost all power. From what I've read, it needs to have a 'pump learn' done after the SCV replacement. Is this something I can do with the nanocom? is there something else I can do?

Pete Bell from BAS gave me this procedure for replacing the valve
"You need to make sure the car is in standard form, replace the vcv, do a high pressure pump reset, then do a pilot correction. in that order."
These steps are all possible with the BAS jigger
I'm not sure re: nanocom but I sure guess that's where your problems may lie

The engine also has to be at operating temp for the pilot correction learn.

Ok thanks for the replies, I did a search and found an answer to a question I asked here about 2 years ago re nanocom and pump learn (I must be getting forgetful)- not one of the functions of the nanocom. Fortunately the local diesel specialist & denso agent works Saturdays- he graciously did the pump learn for me at short notice. All good.
