Question Discovery 2 vs Defender 110 cabin size

Surprisingly I've been unable to find a thread comparing the two cabin sizes between a Land Rover 110 and Discovery 2. Anyone who has owned and lived with both able to provide comments, thoughts, opinions and feedbacks on the size difference? Particularly looking from the perspective of fitting kids, dogs and luggage in when heading away for a weekend etc.

Is the boot size on the 110 the same size as the 90 behind the front seats or larger?

Ive had two brief stints in D2’s.....

Other than that it’s just been defenders.

D2 was nice up front, nice air-con and comfy seats. While I didn’t sit in the back seat I’m sure they would be way more comfortable than the defer. The cargo area has good access nice full width door.

Defer, I don’t mind the front seats....I can sit in it all day, the bride struggles. Back seats are terrible for adults well anybody over the age of 12. My kids never complained in the younger years. Cargo area is easy to set up but the rear door can be limiting at times.

I think it’s hard to compare the two....as they are quite the opposite

Not sure what your budget is but a D3 would be my choice if I was choosing other than a defender.

The Deefer is narrower in the cab, so if you are a little wider than normal, or just broad in the shoulders like I am you will find your shoulders rubbing the B pillar, and often it's more comfortable to drive with the window down and elbow out!
The Disco is a lot quieter, and I mean a lot.
As Weeds said, the Defender seats are actually very good, great lumbar support and the reduced squab length is pretty much unnoticed in use. The driving position is quite OK for me too, although the seat is raised by 20mm to get some extra height for my pins and to get the seat runners over the lip on the seat box.
I've never spent much time in the back of the Defender and the seats are pretty ordinary there.
Load space I can't compare as I had a 130, but the Disco has been fine, but I've only solo travelled too.

Did I mention the Disco is so quiet in comparison?
Even quieter than the newish Mazda BT50 work ute, and the A/C actually works, and the heater is really good (to be fair I never had an issue with the Deefer heater, but I'd rebuilt the heater box assembly) and the Disco is so quiet!

Looking at those measurements from fitzy, Defender load space is significantly bigger, which is what I expected. I like the Defender door. Packing into the corners is great. I also like the height and square load space.

I would love a defender, but at 6'5" and a solid build, there is just no room. Even worse is it would be terrible with the rest of the family in it (wife and two growing boys). I found our d1 borderline for being cramped too.
I would stretch the budget for a d3

Have a Defender and have had a D1 and D2 and now sons D2. Defender has a lot more useable load space, not quite double that of a D2 but not far off. The D2 is a much more refined vehicle for driving. The Defender is better off road and you can sit in the seats for long periods no dramas. I assume we are talking same year Defenders/D2s?
I have a love hate relationship with my Defender.
An ultra comfortable Defender would be great.

This is like comparing apples with oranges as these two are completely different trucks.
One is built and designed with utility in mind the other is built with comfort in mind, Take away all the sound proofing and replace the second row of seats in a disco with deafener type seats and you will have a similar boot size.
There is also the issue of the rear access on both vehicles.
There is more usable space in a defender But the larger rear door on a disco makes it so much more user friendly to load and unload.
Both trucks are very capable off road But they are two entirely different vehicles.

I have taken ALL the rear seating out of my D2a so that I have a huge rear cabin area without the noise of a defender and with all the creature comforts retained at the drivers seat that comes with the disco
