    MoveLater2 Jump starter

I'm heading to the 4wd show in Perth next week for a bit of sightseeing but I'm thinking about one of those emergency jump start devices that are all the rage at the moment. Does anyone have a product name of a device that works well or failing that, specs that I should look for?

Got a traxide kit already. It was more for helping others.

Hi Rod and while I have not used one yet, just a suggestion, try to get one that has additional uses.

I have been doing a bit of research on these lithium start packs.

See if you get one that can also be use to run other devices and charge phones and cameras and so on.

    Hi,
After a cold weekend camping, one the vehicles in our group failed to start.
Some one in the group had a jump starter thingy and was keen to use it in anger.
Perhaps it was too cold, or perhaps a week since last charge, but it wouldn't start the little Suzuki.
A pair of leads from an old Hilux did the trick though.
That little exercise did nothing to dispel my doubts about their real world usefulness.
    Cheers

Seeing no one seems to want to answer the OPs actual question, these seem to have favourable reviews on other 4wd forums.

I have never used them so have no idea on how good they are but the reviews are pretty good.

We have a couple of these gizmo's and they will both start a diesel hilux from cold, Not only that they are fantastic as a phone charger as well
We haven't had to try them out on my Disco Yet

Thanks for the replies and comments, all of which I agree with. It was just a thought, but I'm thinking otherwise now. I reckon these devices might have a home in a car that has no other electrical stuff other than standard.

Yep I use a battery pack with compressor and usb points. If it only has one use it's not packed for touring within reason!
