All done, filed down the bush slightly and now its a snug fit. Next issue was wiring on trailer plugs is so short i couldnt swing either socket out of the way to get the top bolt in, managed to get the bolt behind a socket and used long nose pliers to slide it in.
I know you have a rear bar and wheel carrier Mark so may not affect you, when reversing into my work carpark the sensor was going off its nut.
Probably need to cover half of the 2 inner parking sensors to stop it.
You can buy small stick on clear furniture savers from Bunning that fit over the sensor. Cutting the covers in half worked shielding the Mitch Hitch but not with the tow bar in the slot and I found the I needed to cut mine as in the pic - leaving about 2/3rds in place - misses the tow bar. With your arrangement things might be different but you get enough furniture tabs and they are cheap enough to experiment. They stick well an I have only had one fall off after 7 years. It is important to allow a bit of the beam out of the sensors as the inner ones have a range of about 2m and even 2/3 covered give good warning. The outer sensors only have a range of less than a meter so if you completely cover the inner sensors you will get little or no warning of something behind you.

I think in your case Nick, you can turn the sensor 180° to stop that (?) .
In the D4, the sensor is slightly different in how it is held in, but I'm not sure if thats every D4, or from 2014 onwards.
Since the Aluminium reflector fell off the bottom of my Kaymar swing away recently ...... My sensors have been squawking every time I hit reverse..... fixing that is on my to do list [bighmmm].... so maybe I have the same problem... but I haven't found that out yet.... might try Garry's stick on do dads [thumbsupbig]
Bit late now I know but for the second Mitch Hitch I installed I removed the whole wiring loom from the plug below LHR light through to the trailer socket. I found that easier than all the fiddling you guys described which was the same as my first install. You need to get at the main bolt at least one further time to be retorqued after first significant use towing. This is mentioned in the install instructions and shouldn’t be skipped. Just getting the wrench and socket in there is difficult without more slack to pull the trailer plug out of the way.
