Not sticky to very Sticky
A roofers best friend. The humble can of Rid insect repellent. Not only does it bring back my Dunlop Volleys. Has worked wonders on the window suction cups. (Just keep from all moulded plastics) just on the cup side and allow to fully evaporate.
Phone holder that does not need suction cup to be moistened at all
Hi Garry,
Have you tried or seen the type of mobile phone holder that has a suction cup that you don't need to moisten with anything at all?
I have one of these, and it has quite a soft suction cup that you press gently against the inside of the windscreen and then operate a small lever that pulls the centre of the cup away from the glass.
A holder of this type might be worth a try if you find one: I've never had it fall off.
In fact, the edge of the suction cup has a tab that you pull to break the suction seal, after releasing the lever, when you want to take it down.
Mine was made by Motorola (and is no longer available), but there may be others out there that operate the same way.
Just a different approach that could be worth considering.
Cheers, Andrew

However first I will try some some sort if thicker oil - like olive oil to see if that works - as I said the caps pop in hot weather where the space between the glass and sucker expands and causes the cap to pop off.
I will see what happens
Thanks for the input.
