    Hardtop to Ute

    G'day guys i have a 94 3door Hardtop that i want to convert into a ute.
Is it just a matter of unbolting the hardtop and bolting on a ute roof?

Also i will fund the conversion by selling the Hardtop and rear door any rough idea's on what they are worth.

    Cheers Kev..

I think that you need a tailgate as well, but as far as I know that's all you have to do.

    Nice Kev.

That should be all good, finding a ute roof is pretty tough. Should be able to modify a series rear window wall if you cant find a defender one.

So this going to be comped?

    ute: utility truck,

they are cool, Im heading that way with our little s3,
But since you have a defender there is a little more work to it, as you have all that space open behind you to fill, , if you can, hang on to both for atleast a month, just incase u end up wanting to change back,.. it can be hard some times to find the defender parts you want or need at the right price,

just to be safe,.. it isnt a d90 your doing this with?? 8O

Ute - abbreviation of utility truck. The Australian name for pickups.

    This is a Holden ute:
