Hi & welcome to the forum.
Do you have a Detroit locker in the rear? Not uncommon for them to do this, especially in low speed tight turns.

Vehicle is a Defender cab chassis 130.
Have done 400,000 +
Came back from Melbourne and went into a supermarket car park.
I drove out turning left onto highway ans suddenly the right rear wheel seemed to lift off the road and I heard a bang/snap like metal breaking.
Thought it could be a blown tyre or shocker problem but there OK.
Drove home OK. Check under vehicle and couldn't find anything. Rang my mechanic who said I may have run over something but I know I didn't. Told to just keep driving.
Is there any way I can check what has happened? I have a feeling something broke.
Is it a case of Diff Windup. (i read about this) and if so what do I do next.

Or has it lunched a side gear??? I remember that scenario when i had my old 302 ZF fairlane and would go through 1 borgwarner open diff a month doing burnouts...😅. I could drive it in a straight line for while after the intial bang... a few more turns and that was curtains .. i remember looking everywhere for a cheap lsd or 9" but after putting (lots) of fuel in it every week and many many 205 r 14 tyres (again lots) there was barely any beer money...😣
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Mmm memories Xb gs 302 c toploader dual plate clutch bw diffs for breaky replaced that with Lsd 9" Oh dont forget the rh /engine mount ate them for breaky , lunch , tea, and supper fixed that by drilling it and putting a bolt through it
And then i supposedly grew up and got wiser and bought a LR![]()
fc holden special, worked 192, triple carbs. Standard delivery from our truck tyre supplier was 2 x 13 inch retreads for me every fortnight. Had to be retreads as I was an apprentice and they even kept me broke. I was lucky, diffs and axle were every where.
cheers
