I stopped the glass rattling in mine with those little foam ear plugs, roll them up and squeeze them in every few inches.
Or you can put them in your ears and the Defender is even quieter still:p
ok guys, i bought my bailey channel today, should arrive early next week.
i have a defender 110 tray back, its the rear sliding window thats the problem........
when u install the new channel, one window side at a time,
are you doing it in one piece? as in bottom up the side and top,
so 2 pieces all up for both windows?
or
4 pieces, bottom and half up the side, then top and half down the side, for both windows
any other tips would be great.
cheers, serg
Did my Defender today - makes a big difference! Easy as to install to...
I found that if you spray a little lanolin (it won't hurt the rubber) to lube the rubber you can get it to butt-up without a gap in the middle - just help it along with a screwdriver.
Now I wont to do my doors! lol ;-)
Hi
Does anyone know the exact size/ dimensions of bailey channel to buy? I purchased some from clark rubber but its the wrong size and they wont exchange it!
Thank you
The code for the bailey channel is 350.360. If you search on here for a post I made on 'Defender sliding windows', there's some blurb I wrote that may be helpful. Don
Did mine yesterday with the bailey channel that Nod suggested - Spectrum rubber were great.
Bit tight to fit - I did the complete window (except for the stop at the end) - here’s my tips:
open window fully
take out all old channel
within window open fully put some lube on the channel and push in towards the edge of the fixed window. Work the rubber around to the bottom and measure out to the edge of the fixed window. Cut the end and lube it up and squeeze / persuade the rubber in (i found it easier to move the window back and forward a little to move the rubber along as it is tight.
Now close the window.
lube up one end of channel and push/ squeeze in to butt up against the top piece. Do the same with the bottom.
Its tight! But I’m sure it will loosen slightly over time. But well worth it to stop those rattles!;)
Cheers
I reckon I might give this stuff a go soon myself. All this talk about felt reminded me of Benny Hill - a song about some girl asking him if he knew where she could get felt :o
I bought 4m of this stuff from clarke rubber the other day and did both rear windows. Had over a meter left over because I left the plastic filler guides in the lower section of the window there and only put the bailey channel up the front side and top.
Thanks for the tip fellas
Did mine yesterday with Bailey channel from Clark Rubber

Don't know why i put up with the noise for the last year now :(
