Unfortunately that's the way the local dealership has gone. Add the aggravation of being a VW, LR and Suzuki place and there's probably not a great deal of Td5 expertise and experience there apart from the service manager who is too mired in paperwork and admin to find time to do any spannering.
It was the same when I had my SIII. The local dealership had never clapped eyes on a diesel one.
Apparently around here somewhere is a Td5 fanatic who I'm trying to track down.If possible, find a bloke who used to be at a Stealership when you car was newish and has gone out on his own ( but, be careful even then.
Ask me hoe I know?. Or, better still, learn to do it yourself... Now, I know that isn't possible for everyone, for various reasons, but by golly it helps if you are ever stuck somewhere.
I know how to do it and I can do it. Mobility issues prevent me from leaning over the guards to get at stuff. Given that I was in the middle of nowhere I could deal with it but very slowly.
Oh well, at least I can still do stuff on my D2 that can be done from underneath. Next step is the centre diff - It's got a fair bit of lash in it. Maybe a transfer case rebuild is on the cards.
