Suspension
G'day
Anyone out their using King Springs, and Koni Suspension. Curious to see how you find them. Aslo the size spring you are using and has this involved a 50mm lift.
Or for that matter what do members prefer in suspension set up and load carrying for their defenders.
Anyone with a 03 0nwards TD5 Defender had trouble with the rear door with the spare wheel, anyone fitted a rear wheel carrier , if so what is the type you are using.
Thanks
Jake

I have King springs on my Rangie (87 Hi-line). They offer about a 30-40mm lift overall after thet settle a bit.
These are not my prefered choice of spring, just that I had them in my shed and they didn't copst anything. I've had them in the past and ripped them out primarily they were too stiff for off-road work tha I do (I like a bit of compliance in my suspension). But these ones I've got have been 'softened' for me and they do thump off-road either like my previous set so they'll stay on board
Shocks, I have Bilsteins. Good shocks but not sutied for my use off-road (ie- more open length is what I'm after) so they're for sale if anyone's interested
Whatever you choose, as long as it's suited to your needs and it does the job to your satisfaction.
Good luck,
Trav

Jake, search for extensive posts on the latter subject including a writeup I did. It's a weak point and needs fixing.
