It is only a 3 bar sensor though where I believe the OEM Mercedes Bosch 0 281 002 244 is 3.5 bar. Still it's 0.5 bar higher than the OEM LR Td5 Bosch unit which is only 2.5 bar according to Tech Note No.1: MAP sensor recalibration and replacement | DiscoTD5.com and this might be enough to increase the range to a usable amount and overcome MAP overboots issues with some ECU tune adjustment - I think this would be right in my case as I'm not exceeding 300 kpa in the readings.

As a bonus, it seems to be about 1/3rd of the price of the OEM Mercedes Bosch unit part number above too which is great.
Just received the following from one of the members here regarding the VAG MAP sensor:

I purchased the 3bar VAG sensor from VAGParts and found that the sensor is slightly different not insurmountable but annoying

You need a Plug part no 1J0973704 to plug into the new sensor
Also the part that seals that goes into the inlet manifold is smaller I think this can be done with a Aluminum plate with the correct size hole

I would like to make an adapter using the plug above and a male connector for the Land Rover loom just have to find the plug type this way I will not modify the original wiring
Once all this is done it should be simple enough to make it all work
Be aware therefore that it's not a direct plug and play fit, the Mercedes sensor, part number in the OP, may therefore be a quicker and better purchase given that it reads 0.5 bar higher and is physically a direct replacement fit.

This seller on eBay is offering them (the Mercedes MAP) for $111.69 AUD delivered from the UK, by far the cheapest that I have seen todate Bosch 0281002244 Pressure/Temperat Sensor 3165142430980 | eBay Sometimes eBay have 5 and 10% off special codes too which will reduce it further.

I think I'm running a 3.5 bar one, if you are at all interested I'll dig up that part number.

For anyone else thinking of doing this, remember that you will need a NNN ecu and it will need to have the MAP/IAT settings changed.

    Cheers
