130's rule
HSV Rangie has Silverstones and reckons they were OK, just lacked traction sideways (on a slope in your Victorian slop) with that directional tread.
The big Michelins (the 9.00/16 XZL is popular with some Landy blokes in the US) uses steel belts in the sidewall as well as the tread. I'm pretty sure Serg is right that oit is no longer in production and has been replaced with the 255/100.
If you want a 33.3" tyre and don't want it as aggressive or tough as a Simex/Silverstone (both Bias ply) or Michelin, BFG have ample stock of their 255/85/16 Mud Terrain. It fits on stock 6.5" 130 rims.
If you want the look of the XZL, and want a 9.00-16, try MRF Sand Grip Tyres. http://www.mrf-exports.com/product_details...sp?c=22&s=&p=94. They are quite reasonably priced. Available through the importers Agtyre in Moree 1800 028 988, or Ken Kenney in Bris (07) 5530 7765.
here's a web page on the 9.00/16 XZL fitted to Defenders https://www.expeditionexchange.com/michelin/
and here's how tall they are
