I used to add my left over kart fuel that ran Castrol R30 to my road car tank.
Shame Castor is so bloody dirty.
A retired engineer told me that there was some advantage in using 2 stroke oil in older diesels running on low sulphur fuel. He reckoned that 2SO helped keep the seals in older injection system soft and lubricated. Two strokes have crank shaft seals exposed to petrol, so need something to keep them from going hard and brittle. He used 250mls every second tank. Probably won't do much in a modern diesel designed to use low sulphur diesel, but might help in an older Tdi or series diesel injection pump.Quote:
