Driveshafts, swivel housings, anywhere else to keep an eye on? Defender puma in my instance, but I understand other older models will be similar.
Also after recommendations for a good all rounder (if one even exists?).
I was shopping at Westrac today, and thought 'bugger it, I'll just buy another grease cartridge for the old grease gun'... then promptly realized that there is 11ty billion varieties, and I have bugger all idea what I need, and where I need to put it.
OK, Go.

CAT Desert grease for the splines, ball joints, unis, etc.
If CAT have an NLGI 00 grease available use it in the swivels.
CAT greases are 5% moly (most moly greases are only 2-3%) using a Calcium Sulfonate complex soap, giving far superior water washout and rust resistance to any lithium or aluminum complex soap grease and the platelet size is such it'll be ok with the needle rollers in a uni.
Desert Gold used to be the bomb but AFAIK it's no longer available. It was a full synthetic base.
Wheel bearings I like Redline CV-2 or Neo Z12 (if you can find it)
Z12 is fricking amazing and isn't anywhere near Neo's best grease.
I packed the Deefers front wheel bearings once something like 15 years and 260,000km ago.
I don't know if the current owner has had the bearings serviced in the last 8 months.
I should've mentioned the Redline CV-2 makes an excellent 4wd wheel bearing grease as even though they don't advertise it it uses a calcium sulfonate complex soap.
I've used it in tie rod ends before I discovered the CAT greases (heaps cheaper!)
Whatever grease you use, check its compatibilty with the grease that is in the machine already
Google grease compatibility to find out which types of grease are compatible
This is a typical compatibilty chart
LUBEMANN OIL - Grease
I visited Hastings Deering Parts Office in Kerry Road, Acacia Ridge yesterday and it was quite an experience. It is a bit like going to a bank to borrow $100,000. First you have to sit down with a technical consultant to get all your details and he places the order and you pay for it with him. Then you are directed to the spare parts counter where you are informed that someone in the back was picking your order. It took half an hour to complete my very simple purchase.
I went there on rich130’s post above, as in my eyes, he is the lubricant God on this forum.
I also took advantage of the offer (see attached) that they have going which is buy $80 worth of 450gm grease cartridges and get a free cartridge grease gun. It is a STM brand with Australia on it but when you read the mistakes in the instructions I have little doubt it was made in China or nearby. I got a range of grease types in cartridges, eight in total and some were 5% Moly. Now I have enough grease to last me for a longtime.
