It was bound to happen. I doubt they would even pull.over live axle vehicles with modest lift and modest increase in tyre size. Next to a lot of beefed up Rangers and similiar my D2 for example looks positively tame. Just the way I like it.
Cheers
The mass of highly lifted giant tyred possers that hover around the Gold Coast and Sunshine coast that has created the clampdown on all vehicles, not just 4WD's.
QCOP draft is being reviewed https://www.4wdqld.com.au/wp-content...rafts-2018.pdf
The ESC issue popped up due to this.
NCOP is the national standards and each state may do what they want but not be stricter than those guidelines. https://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/-/media/S...ring.pdf?la=en
This is the "swerve" control test done under international standards
The Australia Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) have been involved to try and get ESC care to be self-certifying at 50mm
AAAA Vehicle Dynamics Testing leads to change in NCOP - Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association
Testing has been done by some aftermarket companies, interesting times.
In general, most 50 mm lifts are not 50 mm, ARB 200 series is 40 mm I have been told that some are more like 30mm but they look more due to suspension sag and the aftermarket hold up better when loaded.
As for my D4, I do have one size up tyres which is permissible under NCOP's and in QLD depending on where you travel. I live in FNQ so getting replacements for 19" can be a major issue, whereas 20" rims and 275/55 are more common and easier to get. They are one size up from the plated 255/55/20R.
But if you have a vehicle check Road Vehicle Descriptor Online for any suspension heights

Apparently this is the check list QPS are using.
Looks pretty straight forward and easy for them to apply.

Thanks, Weeds,
You are correct 255/50R20
I did try to find LT A/T sized at
255/50R20
255/55R20
265/50R20
265/55R20
then went to
275/55/20 with a BF Goodrich T/A K02
As a matter of interest, I did ask a tester at the TMR office if this was ok,
he did say it was accepted practice for locals who travel in the FNQ to go to the next size up for AT tyres.
Naturally, this was not written down.
The size difference is 48mm in OD or 6.3% (31.9 inches)
And best of all side wall is 20% (1") more

Cheat sheet doesnt say mod plate required for tyre increase for ESC vehicles. Is silent on tyre increase by itself. Cheers
Checklist the QPS have been given
There also seems to be a lot of chatter and rumours about Qld Transport to possibly ban GVM upgrades on any 4WD that is not classed as a commercial vehicle.
Seems the Tojo LC200 forum fans are not impressed
