Huh? Remove the hold down bracket. Remove the radiator and intercooler with frame. Unbolt frame. Remove radiator. Don’t bend anything.
It’s a 1995 model and I am considering removing the radiator myself and taking it to my local radiator service guy to have it rodded.
Attaching two photos of the metal brackets at the sides of the radiator. Each one has two bolts in it. I have been told that these metal brackets have to be bent out to remove the radiator and bent back when the radiator is reinserted.
Is that true or false?

if you have aircon the condensor will bolted thru to the radiator frame aswell.
Remove rad and intercooler as one unit.

I wonder why the radiator guy said it had to be bent up? He is very experienced.
Well I am now stuck with the radiator removal and need some guidance. It is already to lift out but I am having trouble with the brackets at each end. As you can see by the photos, I have a top bracket and a strongly built captive bracket at the end of the radiator. It is captive in the sense that it prevents me lifting the radiator out and also prevents me pushing the radiator towards the engine.
If I remove the intercooler first would it help at all?
If I could undo the side bracket someway that would help a lot. But is it removable? You can see I bent the top bracket up on the intercooler side and it deformed somewhat. I have a Haynes manual and checked out YouTube videos but they don’t seem to have the captive bracket that I do.
Perhaps I am overlooking something.
More photos.
The rad and intercooler come out in 1 piece, with the frame.
If it isnt lifting out then the ac condenser is still bolted to the verticals of the frame.

As mentioned above
You have already removed the hold down brackets (rubber pin bush)
They are all the locate the entire frame that locks the IC and Rad together
So assuming you have fan off, all hoses disconnected a non aircon will just lift straight up
Once the hold down brackets are off
If you have air on it will be easier to deliver the front grill to loosen the AC condenser attachments

Thanks for the replies, I’ll have another attempt tomorrow.
Also, I need to clean the fins on the AC condenser. How should I go about that task?
