Icom IC400pro. Its able to be reprogrammed by the owner to up to 25 watts plus 128 (from memory)channels. Mine does not have standard cb programming. It works very well. Centre roof antenna. Uniden 2 watt handheld for when I have to walk up hills to help someone who is stuck.

Dick smoth special hand held. Cose it was only $20 and I needed something in a hurry. I borry my inlaws uniden UH11 sometimes as well.

Uniden sundowner concrete block but it is the aerial and its location that count more so IMHO.
Can I ask what antennas and mounting locations are used?
Omaroo, I know camera lenses can distort, but it appears that your gear lever can be adjusted so that it sits closer to the driver so it isn't such a hell of a reach.
I've noticed quite a few Defender's over the years with the gear lever half a mile away from the driver. It's so much nicer to drive when it falls easily to hand.
The adjustment procedure is in the manual.
