    Maxi drive vacuum hose repair

So... I did a real good job of melting the hoses on my front locker - melted about 2 inches of them.

Is it a good idea to patch the hoses? Is there readily available joint fittings - or is it a replacement job?

Any advice where I could source the bits/bobs locally too would be appreciated (Melbourne).

I need to replace all mine too. Three from the back and three front. They went brittle where they joined the valves and just broke up. Must be the heat through the bulkhead but they have been there since the mid 80,s so cant really complain. I was thinking of joining as the bulk of it in conduit is OK but the joiners are bulky and one never knows if there is another crack somewhere without pulling it all out and inspecting.

What's the OD of the tube ?
If it's like ARB they use 5mm OD which is difficult to source but .... I used to work for the company that supplies the tube & fittings so can pass on the details.
I work in the pneumatics industry and can get polyurethane tube at a good rate. Joiners are handy for a Bush fix, I can get nickel plated brass or polymer. Only problem is if it's 5mm tube so if replacing, change to 6mm and change the fittings at each end.
Pneumatics tubing at these sizes is OK for vacuum.
