    another thing to be careful of is heat soak between the i/c outlet and the head/ports. Can't remember the arrangement on a TD5 (it's been 12 months since I looked at one ) but on the 300Tdi, the inlet plennum sitting above that nice and warm exhaust manifold and turbo gets superheated quite nicely. I was logging temps of it a few weeks back, and on the top side, under the accoustic cover it sits at around a nice 77*C.
    Guess what's going to get insulated with some header wrap and silica/mylar sheet ??? :wink:

    Hi Rick,

    Just got home from a few days hol. Thank you for all the info on the i/c's. On the 300TDi, I was going to lag my intercooler pipe for the same reason. I think the TD5 may benefit also.
    Could be cheaper than a new i/c. :wink:
