Traxide - Defender COMBO Light Kit

It on the list for the current defer as I’ve not long ago replaced the headlight switch so I should preserve it.

Can I hook up a pair of FYRLYT 5000’s and a light bar using the one kit ??

Or do I need to add another relay for the light bar.....

Just thinking, I might given in need two separate switches in the cab.

    Tim, got a solution?

Personally I would add another dual relay (gives flexibility for another light bar). I have been running 2 x Hella Rallye 4000s and a 23 inch light bar since one of my New Era dual relays failed and it has been ok, but will be replacing shortly. Originally I had 3 relays running Headlights on one, 2 x Narva spots on another and the 2 Rallye 4000s on another via a Traxide set up and all fine for many years. I think the Relays are around 10 years old now as is the Traxide Kit, so I can live with a relay failure. Cant live with below though. I also have each pair of lights on separate switches and will be doing light bars on individual switches as well.
    Tim will have your solution.
We also thought we would get away with one relay running 2 x LED 9" spotties and a 23" LED light bar on my sons D2, but it melted the relay last night when he was out camping, didnt just blow the fuse. Now this was NOT a Traxide Kit as such and not New Era Relays but a cheaper version as part of the set up was already in place when we bought the car. Will be replacing with New Era relays as well. We had had minor issues with the relay working and then not working. Just lucky there was no fire.

I have one of Traxide Defender Combo on the 110 running 2x130W KC's on one output of the relay and a 50" light bar off the other. I have run 2 lines back to the dash and have modified the standard switches to be positive switched instead of negative switched, so that they operate independently of each other.

When I originally spoke to Tim about the number of lights it he said it was fine, I did have the relay that ran the light bar die but the KC's were still working on the front, so was only one side of the relay.

A basic question: how/where would you run the supply cable from battery under the seat to the engine bay?

    Hi,
I have gone tru the inside wall of the battery compartment (follow the lead from the alternator), down onto the chassis, along this until I found something to take me up to the relays ( which are mounted on the passenger side of the engine bay.)

Avoid things that are going to get hot.

    Cheers Glen

Mine goes out the side hole in the battery box, down under and along and then up again. Is inside a protective conduit and cable tied high up out of the way. Put a grommet on the hole so it doesn't rub.
