Fast flashing indicator (not working) after bull bar removal

    Sorry, confusing title, I know.

Today I removed my bull bar from an 03 TD5 defender, which had indicators built into it, and replaced it with a standard nudge bar, no indicators.

The wires to the indicators were cut so I could remove the bumper bar.

The indicators on the vehicle, on the right front work, where as the left front indicator only is not working (side indicator and back ok). The bulb is ok.

I assume it has something to do with the cut wires from the bull bar, but it confuses me that it’s only on one side?

Now I think about it I should have swapped the whole indicator housing from the working side, but now I’m at work and I can’t get to the car to fault find.

    So, 2 questions.
    1) Any idea what might be happening? Bad earth?
    2) What needs to be done with wires that are cut from indicators no longer needed? From memory the loom had 3 wires in it going to the light mechanism. (Indicator, lamp/drive light, earth)

    Many thanks,

    Thomas

When this happened to me one of the other globes were dead. The bullbar lights are connected to the main wiring and could effect it. Not the most detailed response...

Turns out it was just a dirty terminal. After a quick clean, indicators are back to normal.

But the open ended wires, tape up? Or trace back and remove?
